The Fabulous Bouncing Chowder

by Peter Brown

Published by Little, Brown, 2007
32 pages
ISBN: 0-316-011179-7

Ages 3-7

Everybody has a dream. For Chowder Wubbington, the lovable and ever-so-quirky bulldog, it is to attend Twisty’s Acrobatic Fanatic Camp. But Chowder’s dreams are crushed when he is told that Twisty’s does not allow dogs. To raise Chowder’s spirits, his human parents send him to Fabu Pooch Boot Camp. This new opportunity may not be all it’s cracked up to be either. Chowder’s alternative spirit does not seem to fit at Fabu Pooch, where all the other dogs laze around poolside being beautiful and ever-so-well-behaved pups. But the upcoming First Annual Fabu Pooch Pageant, with a winning prize of a year’s worth of Snarf Snacks, helps to raise Chowder’s spirits. He maintains his unique personality in combination with his original acrobatic interests to become one with the experience. This second installment in the Chowder series provides charming fun, independent spiritedness, and plenty of drool throughout. (DA) ©2007 Cooperative Children’s Book Center
