April and Esme: Tooth Fairies

by Bob Graham

Published by U.S. edition: Candlewick Press, 2010
36 pages
ISBN: 978-0-7636-4683-7

Ages 3-8

Sisters April and Esme beg their parents to let them take on their first official tooth fairy pick-up and delivery job. After a family discussion over dandelion soup dinner, Mom and Dad help prepare the girls for their excursion. With a reminder from their parents to ďtext if you need to,Ē April and Esme set off into the night. Their destination is the home of Daniel Dangerfield. In spite of a close call when Daniel wakes up, the girls pull of a successful mission, even finding enough time to visit the room of Danielís Grandmaís to give her a goodnight kiss (they donít take her dentures). Their safe arrival home is celebrated with lots of hugs from Mom and Dad, and Danielís tooth gets hung from the rafters. Bob Graham offers a humorous alternative to the traditional tooth fairy story in this delightful outing featuring a hip and loving young tooth fairy family. Lots of visual humor is incorporated into Grahamís wonderful storytelling. Honor Book, 2011 Charlotte Zolotow Award  © Cooperative Children's Book Center
