Tuck Me In!

by Dean Hacohen
Illustrated by Sherry Scharschmidt

Ages 1-5

揑t抯 time for bed. Who needs to be tucked in? The answer is a rousing 揑 do! from one creature after another in this pleasing picture book that gives young readers and listeners the opportunity to tuck in Baby Pig, Zebra, Elephant, Alligator, Moose, Hedgehog, and Peacock in turn. The brilliance is in the clever design of a book in which every other page is a 揵lanket敆half the size of the full pages, and just big enough to 揷over the expectant baby animal waiting to be tucked. Each blanket is a different, brightly colored design that matches or complements the baby抯 pillow. The amusingly wide-eyed expressions on the animals faces are sure to bring a smile, while the repeated refrain (揥ho else needs to be tucked in?) offers a soothing sense of predictability perfect for any day抯 end. Contrasting end papers show the animal babies wide-awake inside the front covers and slumbering inside the back.  © Cooperative Children's Book Center
