This listing of resources about Spanish-language books for children and teens has been developed in response to the need for Spanish-language materials in schools and libraries. The listing includes the following:

Sources for Recommended Books with Latino Cultural Content

Books selected for these two Latino children's and young adult literature awards are often published in English , but some are created as bilingual books. Spanish-language editions are sometimes simultaneously published, or published after the English-language editions.

Américas Award: Annual award (plus honor and highly commended titles) for books about Latin American or Latinos in the United States

Pura Belpré Award: Annual award (and honor books) to the outstanding book for children and teens by Latino author, and outstanding book for children and teens by Latino artist.

Distributors of Spanish-Language Books for Children and Teens

This listing is focused on companies that specialize in Spanish-language or titles. It does not include large distributors (e.g., Baker & Taylor, Ingram) that may also have Spanish-language books.

Libros sin Fronteras : Distribution of Spanish langauge books, audio books, and music; emphasis on materials from Latin America

Lorito Books: Distribution of Spanish language books from Mexican publishers as well as bilingual children's books and audio books; publisher of aduio books; includes searchable database

Santillana USA: Distribution of trade books, dual-language content, Spanish as a World Language materials; subsidiary of Grupo Santillana, "the largest Spanish-language educational publisher in the world"

Scholastic Spanish-Language Publishing and Distribution: Spanish, English and bilingual books, including 100 Spanish-language and bilingual titles published per year (original titles and reprints of English-langauge titles)
