Rhinelander Children's Book Fest

CCBC librarians Merri Lindgren and Megan Schliesman will talk about great new (c2017) books for children and teens from birth through high school-age at the annual Rhinelander Children’s Book Fest on Tuesday evening, March 5 (browsing starts at 4; presentation on books for K-12 from 6:30-8) and Wednesday, March 6 (registration and browsing starts at 8:30; presentation on books for birth – grade 12 from 9:30-noon). Merri and Megan will highlight books from CCBC Choices 2019 at this event sponsored by the Rhinelander District Library, Headwaters Reading Council, the School District of Rhinelander, Northern Waters Library Service and Wisconsin Valley Library Service. All of the Choices books will be available for hands-on book examination throughout the day, along with recently announced American Library Association children’s and young adult literature award winners and best-of-the-year list titles for youth.

Manitowoc-Calumuet/Nicolet/OWLS/Winnefox Library Systems Workshop

CCBC librarians Merri Lindgren and Megan Schliesman will talk about great recent (c2018) books for children and teens from birth through high school-age at a workshop sponsored by the Manitowoc-Calumet, Nicolet, Outagamie-Waupaca and Winnefox library systems on Wednesday, April 10, in Appleton. Merri and Megan will highlight books from CCBC Choices 2019, all of which will be available for hands-on book examination throughout the day.

Winding Rivers/Southwest Library System Workshop: Collection Development, Intellectual Freedom, Great New Books

Spend the morning talking about essential questions and issues related to collection development and intellectual freedom with your peers in a workshop facilitated by CCBC librarians Merri Lindgren and Megan Schliesman.
Stick around for a presentation on "Great New Books for Children and Teens" after lunch, as Merri and Megan highlight some of the titles in CCBC Choices 2019.

All of the books in CCBC Choices 2019, as well as 2019 American Library Association award-winners and best-of-the-year list titles will be available for hands-on book examination.
