As a children's and young adult literature book examination and resource center for Wisconsin educators and librarians, the CCBC can help you stay informed about the newest outstanding books published for children and teenagers, and also help you identify great books on a wide range of topics to integrate into the curriculum.

Here on our web site, you’ll find a wealth of information, including….

  • Original booklists created by the CCBC professional staff on a wide range of themes and topics.

    You can also find out how to order a copy of the most recentCCBC Choices, the CCBC’s annual best-of-the-year list of outstanding books for children and teens. We also provide links to many of the annual children’s and young adult literature awards and best-of-the-year lists.

  • Information and links on challenges to books and other materials are available for teachers to help you think about choosing materials for your classroom, and to help you better prepare to face challenges to materials if they do occur. Wisconsin teachers facing a materials challenge are encouraged to make use of our CCBC Intellectual Freedom Information Services.



  • Archived web presentations about new books for children and teens.

Reference and Outreach Services

The CCBC can help Wisconsin preK-12 teachers identify high-quality books on wide-ranging themes and topics. If our online lists (above) don't provide what you're looking for, email or call us to talk about your needs. We are happy to host individauls or school or district-wide groups or teams here at the library interested in doing hands-on book examination of titles we suggest for your consideration.
