365: How to Count a Year
A year can be counted as 365 days (366 in a leap year!), or 52 weeks, or 12 months, of course. It can also be counted by hours (8,760), minutes (525,600), or seconds (31,536,000). But why stop there? Other ways of counting a year in this playful picture book range from straightforward (365 good mornings and good nights) to silly (365 clean pairs of underwear, “hopefully”); messy (“52 Friday night movie popcorn spills”) to sublime (“52 sleep-in Saturdays). The range of examples invites readers and listeners to come up with ideas inspired by the context of their own lives to create “1 marvelous collage of 1 year in the life of you.” Brightly colored digital illustrations provide a cheerful backdrop for this creative concept book. ©2023 Cooperative Children’s Book Center
