Night Light
CCBC Review:
Wearing matching striped pajamas, a parent and child engaged in their bedtime routine are interrupted by a power outage. When a faint flashlight won’t get the job done, the parent’s solution is to climb a ladder to the stars and return with a big bag of celestial wattage. When the stars are too bright for the child to sleep, the parent procures sunglasses as the obvious solution for dimming the light. There is pleasant comfort in this getting-your-needs-met bedtime story, as well as cheerful whimsy. The easy-to-follow panel illustrations and brief dialogue make this an accessible and confidence-boosting selection for a burgeoning reader. ©2026 Cooperative Children’s Book Center
