Even as we continue to document the content and creators of 2020 books that are still straggling into the CCBC, an article by CCBC librarian Madeline Tyner in the January/February 2021 issue of The Horn Book Magazine dives into our numbers for the 2019 publishing year, including the additional categories we’ve added (e.g., Arab and Arab Americans, identify of primary characters). Among the observations they share is the welcome appearance of more books reflecting intersectional identities.
