The little dog knows all the signs that his family had turned in for the night—the click of the bedside lamp, the small night sounds, the shadows in the corners. And he knows his bed is waiting for him, “round like the moon.” But he just isn’t sleepy yet so he remembers all the good things about his day and then makes his night-time rounds—going up the stairs, checking on the sleeping girl, walking down the hall—before finally curling up into his own bed to sleep. Soft acrylic paintings with thick black outlines lend a sense of night-time coziness to this re-assuring story of preparing for sleep.
