The Opposite Zoo
CCBC Review:
When the gates close for the night at the Opposite Zoo, an inquisitive monkey goes exploring, looking for animals that exhibit opposite characteristics: awake/ asleep, hairy/bald, tall/short, soft/prickly, etc. Lush watercolor illustrations show an array of zoo animals, and the monkey can be found somewhere in the background of each double-page spread. As the sun comes up, the monkey returns to its own enclosure and the final double-page spread provides a visual reprise of the animals seen on the previous pages as the zookeeper waves a welcome to all visitors. ©2016 Cooperative Children's Book Center
